Little Nemo: Nightmare Key Sculpt

JAZAMA! PAJAMA! PAJAMA !!

Since I’ve started 3D printing I’ve always had the desire to sculpt, which I knew nothing of. It has taken me years to understand Blender enough just to sculpt.

I got the courage the other night to try my hand at sculpting a long time idea, and a model I’ve once tried to make, but came out looking like a donut with spikes. The model??

Simple Gifts.

Have a loved one? Want to get them something special? Why not make them something special?!

It’s awesome to be able to make things within virtual space and turn them into a physical item in the real work.

In passing I was discussing with my wife what type of shows she use to watch back in the day. Turns out she really loved Star Trek Next Generation.
As for myself, iv never really been a “Treky” but she has been turned on by the latest Picard show. So while she was upstairs thinking i’m down stairs working on random resin casts, I was actually creating her a Badge is her initials on it.

I have been using the Elegoo Mars Resin Printer, and let me tell you. This is my first Resin Printer. And its simply amazing. I’v always been worried about getting the resin printer because of all the cons, smells, and cleanups. But its not bad at all. Smell is next to nothing, the cleanup is fine, just have to IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) on hand.. A lot. But its well worth it. If you’re looking for reliablilty and resolution, this is the printer for you!

This print took 4 hours and came out beautifully. Started it last night and and woke up to a perfect print (Can’t beat that!)

as you can see, it came out awesome!

To say the least, this was a perfect “I Love you!” gift. She absolutely loves it! Caught her by surprise!

Till next time
Happy Printing!
